LITHOS is a cutting house. We buy rough and we cut it ourselves, in our own factory in Surat, by master cutters who have spent their careers shaping diamonds. Everything we make is small batch and deliberate.
Cut for the make, not the margin. Historic proportions cost weight, and weight is what a factory is usually paid on. An old mine cut wants depth. An old European wants a culet. A rose cut wants spread. We plan the cut first and let the carat land where it lands. That is what historic cuts, modern carbon means at the bench.
The lab-grown market is built for speed. Cut to weight, cut to a spec sheet, move it. That is a reasonable business and a lot of people run it well. It is not the business we are in.
LITHOS began with a different question: what happens when a cutting house treats grown carbon with the same discipline it brings to its rarest rough? When the material is grown to intention, the cut can be planned first and the weight second. Proportions that would be reckless to attempt otherwise become possible. Old mine and old European cuts get the depth they actually require. Hexagons, kites, and shields get their full geometry.
So we don't buy finished stones and put our name on them. We buy rough, we plan it, and we cut it. That is the whole company.

Each stone is mapped before anything touches it. The cut is decided first. Weight follows the make, not the other way around.

Final polish, then inspection against the plan. Stones that miss the make do not leave the factory as Distinctive.
Independent grading through IGI, and laser marking so the stone can always be identified as ours.
LITHOS and PRIJEMS share a factory, a family, and a standard. PRIJEMS works in natural rough with decades of sourcing behind it. LITHOS works in grown carbon. The cutters are the same people. The tolerances are the same tolerances.
What differs is where the carbon came from, and we have never seen a reason to pretend otherwise in either direction. We are not here to argue that one is better. We are here because the make is the part nobody else is paying attention to.

Color is a different craft. Our emeralds are cut in Jaipur by partner cutters we have worked with for years, specialists doing work we would not attempt ourselves. Surat for carbon. Jaipur for color.
